Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Dr. Yap Lok Huei is currently Clinical Lead of Plastic Surgery at Prince Court Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur , and Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Dr. Yap graduated with honours MB BCh BAO from the National University of Ireland in Dublin, 1991. He completed his General Surgery (Part II FRECS) training at the University of Hong Kong, gaining his Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and then completing specialty training in Plastic Surgery in the UK, gaining the Certification of Completion of Specialist Training (Part III FRCS) Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Yap was appointed Consultant Plastic Surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust in 2003. He was previously awarded a year-long Plastic Surgery Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas; and completed Clinical Subspecialty Fellowships in Cosmetic Surgery (Wellington Hospital, London), Craniofacial Surgery (Great Ormond St Hospital, London), Ear Reconstruction (Akiba Hospital, Tokyo, Japan)
He is registered as a Plastic Surgery Specialist on the UK GMC Specialist Register as well as the Malaysian National Specialist Register.
Dr. Yap is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons, British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic & Cranio-maxillofacial Surgeons, Malaysian Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
He is a past recipient of the British Journal of Plastic Surgery Prize, the British Association of Plastic Surgeons Travelling Bursary, and the Ethicon Foundation Fund Award.
His specialty interests include cosmetic surgery, aesthetic treatments, laser treatments, body contouring and liposuction, face, eye and breast aesthetic surgery, post cancer reconstruction and microtia reconstruction.
