Armlift

An arm lift surgery is popular amongst patients who wanted to reshape their arms to make them more toned, slimmer, and shapelier making it possible to wear sleeveless and short-sleeved top once again.

The surgery is commonly performed to reduce excess skin after dramatic weight loss, but it can also firm up saggy arms due to ageing.

The Procedure

An arm lift surgery is typically performed by an experience Plastic surgeon at a fully accredited Medical centre/Hospital surgical facility. The surgical procedure will take from 1-3 hours depending on the amount of tissue to be removed and the overall length of the incision. You will not feel any pain since you will be sedated using general anaesthesia.

Our skilled surgeon will create incisions that run on the underside of the arms so that the scars will be hidden and can only be seen when the arms are lifted. If there is any fat present, the surgeon will apply liposuction to remove any excess fat before the excess skin is trimmed. Surgical drainage tubes are placed and secured under the skin to help remove extra tissue fluid that can accumulate in the days after the surgery.

You will be advised to wear surgical compression garment specially made for the arms to help support the tissues as they heal. These garments should be worn continuously for a few weeks and in addition you are to keep your arms elevated to reduce swelling.

Recovery

For the first two weeks after the surgery you are to attend post op follow up sessions at the clinic regularly for wound dressing changes and drains removal. For the next four to six weeks you are to avoid any strenuous activity until certified fit by the attending surgeon.
